7 Days Faculty Development Programme – Day 4

Under the esteemed guidance of Principal Dr. Savinder Pal, the IQAC of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara successfully organized the fourth day of the ongoing 7 Days Faculty Development Programme in the Computer Department. The sessions of the day were attended by 30 faculty members from different departments, making the programme academically enriching and interactive.
The fourth day featured two important academic sessions focusing on research writing and research methodology. The programme commenced with the introduction of the first resource person, Dr. Priyanka Aeri, HOD, Department of Home Science, by Mrs. Swati. Dr. Priyanka Aeri delivered an informative powerpoint presentation on Steps for Writing a Research Paper, wherein she thoroughly explained the selection of an appropriate title, setting of keywords, writing an effective abstract, drafting the introduction, framing objectives, understanding research methodology, presenting results and discussion, preparing summary and conclusion,plagiarism, types of journals and references. The session was highly engaging, and the oral discussion-based approach encouraged faculty members to actively participate and clarify their doubts related to academic writing and research publication.
The second session was conducted by Dr. Kamlesh from the Department of History, who delivered an in-depth lecture on Research Methodology. She elaborated on the meaning and concept of research, its purpose and importance, various types of research, the criteria for writing good quality research, and different research methodologies. She emphasized that while conducting research, the purpose and objectives should always be clear to ensure meaningful and effective outcomes.

Principal Dr. Savinder Pal congratulated the resource persons and the IQAC team for the successful organization of both sessions and motivated faculty members to actively engage in research-oriented academic activities in the future.
