7 Days Faculty Development Programme – Day 3
Under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Savinder Pal, the IQAC of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara successfully organized the third day of the ongoing 7 Days Faculty Development Programme in the Computer Department.
On the third day, the resource person was Dr. Vimple Nanda, faculty member from Kamla Nehru College of Education for Women, Phagwara. The session focused on Personality Development, with special emphasis on the very important topic of Emotional Intelligence.
Dr. Vimple Nanda began the session by clearly explaining the concept of emotion, followed by an insightful discussion on intelligence, helping faculty members understand the difference and interconnection between the two. Using real-life examples and visuals, she explained how emotional intelligence plays a vital role in professional success, personal growth, and effective teaching.
To make the session more practical and engaging, Dr. Nanda conducted five different interactive activities involving faculty members. These activities were based on:
Verbal communication
Non-verbal communication
Johari Window
Positive Feedback Circle
Testing the E. Q.
The hands-on activities encouraged active participation and helped faculty members reflect on their own emotional responses and communication styles. The session remained highly interactive, lively, and informative throughout.
The resource person was formally introduced by Dr. Priyanka Aeri, IQAC Coordinator, who also expressed heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Vimple Nanda for delivering such a meaningful, well-structured, and engaging session.
Principal Dr. Savinder Pal congratulated the IQAC team for the smooth organization of the programme and appreciated the efforts of the resource person. She also motivated faculty members to actively participate in such developmental programmes in the future.
