Under the esteemed guidance of Principal Dr. Savinder Pal, IQAC of Kamla Nehru College for Women Phagwara organized a Faculty Development Programme from December 17th to 24th, 2025, at the Computer Department. 31 faculty members from different departments of the college attended first day of FDP. The event aimed to enhance faculty skills and knowledge in emerging technologies.

On first day of FDP, Dr. Priyanka Aeri, IQAC Coordinator, introduced the first resource person, Mr. Amandeep Singh Rooprai, HOD IT at Kamla Nehru Public School, Phagwara. Mr. Rooprai’s session focused on Artificial Intelligence’s role in education, exploring its applications in:

– Teaching and learning enhancement
– Assessment and feedback
– Creative writing and content generation
– Video editing and multimedia creation

He highlighted AI’s potential to transform education, making it more personalized, efficient, and engaging.

The next session, led by Ms. Swati, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Applications, focused on Cyber Security Awareness. She covered key topics, including:

– Phishing and social engineering attacks
– Malware, ransomware, and other cyber threats
– Data protection and email safety best practices
– Password security and management

Ms. Swati emphasized the importance of cyber security in education, highlighting teachers’ crucial role in promoting digital awareness among students. She stressed the need for safe digital practices, such as:

– Using strong, unique passwords
– Being cautious with emails and attachments
– Keeping software up-to-date
– Monitoring online activities

The session concluded with open discussion, reinforcing the importance of cyber security in today’s digital age.
Principal Dr. Savinder Pal congratulated the members of IQAC to organise this FDP and motivated staff members to participate in such type of FDP in future also.
