The Department of Physical Education, Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara, organised its 39th Annual Sports Meet at the college stadium on 7th February 2026.

The sports meet began with a colourful parade by students, reflecting discipline and unity. Nearly 250 students participated enthusiastically in various events including relay race, 100-metre race, lemon race and tug of war. The event also featured aerobics displays and musical performances by students, which added energy and vibrancy to the programme. The teachers’ race and musical chairs emerged as special attractions and were enjoyed by all.

The event was graced by the presence of the Guests of Honour, Mr. Chirayu Gajia, National Badminton Coach, and Mr. Ahmad Raza, National Football Coach. The stage was handled by Mr. Harjinder Singh.

In their address, the Guests of Honour praised the smooth conduct of the sports meet and highlighted the importance of sports in maintaining physical fitness, discipline and teamwork among students.

The Principal, Dr. Savinder Pal, appreciated the organising team for their dedicated efforts and congratulated all the winners and participants. In her speech, she emphasised the values of sportsmanship, dedication and healthy competition.

A total audience of around 600, including staff members, witnessed the event. Winners were honoured with certificates and medals, and the programme concluded with refreshments served to all.
